This final issue looked at the impact that involvement with children’s social care can have on parents, including anxiety, trauma and increased maternal morbidity and mortality. It shared examples of services and initiatives that have been implemented to support parents when their babies are, or might be, separated from them at birth.
Newborn babies and care proceedings was a bulletin for professionals involved in safeguarding babies at or close to birth that provided links to a range of resources to assist them in this complex area of work.
