Briefing Packs: What do we know about ethnicity in the family justice system?

These short briefing packs have been created to give those working in the family justice system a summary of the ethnic diversity of adults and children in England and Wales in public and private law cases. They are designed to inform thinking and reflection in this area.

The reports these briefing packs are drawn from – What do we know about ethnic diversity in the family justice system in England and Wales? – were the first time evidence was published using administrative data to describe the ethnicity of children and adults in the family justice system in England and Wales.  Further analysis and evidence from this data will be published in 2023.

These packs are the first in a series we intend to produce to increase the accessibility and usability of our evidence in direct practice and learning contexts.
