Every year tens of thousands of children are subject to decisions made in the family courts about their future because their parents are separating or are unable to look after them.  Such decisions can have a profound, long-term impact on their lives, and those around them. 

The Nuffield Family Justice Observatory is being established by the Nuffield Foundation to ensure that decisions made in the family justice system are better informed by data and research evidence.  Our ambition is to improve outcomes for children by increasing the use of data and research evidence to guide decisions about what is best for children and their families.

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to lead the Observatory’s communications and stakeholder engagement work.  They will be responsible for devising and delivering a strategy to put the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory on the map and to ensure that its work reaches and influences judges, lawyers, social workers and other professionals who make decisions in the family justice system. We are looking for a self-starter, who has a track-record of using communication techniques to change attitudes and behaviours and who is passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable children.
